Following a recent spate of thefts involving farm machinery and tools, Mid Ulster Policing and Community Safety Partnerships will host a rural crime information event tomorrow (Wednesday, November 27).
The event will take place in Aughnacloy, Co. Tyrone, where many of the recent thefts occurred. It will run from 11:30a.m until 1:30p.m at the golf club.
Mid Ulster Policing and Community Safety Partnerships will be joined by crime prevention officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) for presentations on the day.
A company specialising in tracking equipment, Trackkit Ltd will also be present on the day. The company provides tools needed to protect assets from theft, fleet monitoring systems and cameras from dash cams to complex multi-cam systems.
It is supported by the PSNI, Rural Crime Partnership, Ulster Farmers’ Union, and Camping Northern Ireland.

Rural crime
The event follows recent burglaries in the Aughnacloy area, with detectives now appealing for information over “high value” machinery.
Entry was gained to a property in the Whitelough Road area of Aughnacloy, Co. Tyrone sometime between 10:00p.m on Wednesday, September 25 and 8:00a.m on Thursday, September 26.
It was reported that a number of power tools and a television were taken during the time.
Police also received a report shortly before 8:20a.m on Monday, September 30 of damage to an excavator that was parked at the Whitelough Road area of Aughnacloy.
It was then reported that a red Honda quad was stolen from the Glencrew Road area of Aughnacloy sometime between 5:00p.m on Sunday, September 29 and 8:00a.m on Monday, September 30.
Sometime between Friday, September 27 and Monday, September 30, it was also reported that a greaser and a strimmer were stolen from an outhouse at the Curlagh Road area of Aughnacloy.
