The penultimate episode of Big Week on the Farm was an eventful one, with guest presenter Roz Purcell tasting live insects on the show!

She did the tasting as part of a sustainability feature on the show and started off by sampling a bun made of cricket flour (yes, really, cricket flour).

The verdict? She said it was moist and tasted like banana bread before saying “that’s really good”.

Next up was the worm wrap which she said tasted like a normal wrap but it was worse because she’d seen what had been in it “and the worms were dangling in it being like, hi Roz”.

As Big Week on the Farm, on John Fagan’s farm in Westmeath, comes to a close, Áine Lawlor and Ella McSweeney and guest co-presenter Sinead Kennedy challenge a surprise celebrity guest to take on a driverless tractor in an obstacle course race.

All things poultry will feature tonight, the show will visit an unusual sheep farm in Kilkenny as well as a high-tech tillage enterprise in Carlow.

It’s also the last chance for live lambing in the series. Tune in at 7pm tonight on RTE One.
