A quad was stolen from a farmyard in Co. Monaghan in an overnight raid over the weekend, local Gardaí have confirmed.

The vehicle – a red Honda quad – was taken from a yard in Lackafin, not far from Castleblaney, on Sunday night (February 7).

In an appeal for information, members of An Garda Síochána based in the Cavan/Monaghan division said:

“The Gardai in Castleblayney are investigating the theft of this 2018 Honda 500 quad.

It was taken from a farmyard in the townland of Lackafin sometime Sunday night, February 7.

“If you noticed anything suspicious or can help in any way, please contact Castleblayney Gardaí on: 042-9747900.”

This is the latest in a series of quad thefts in recent times. However, Gardaí managed to seize five quads believed to be stolen last Friday, February 5. A vehicle believed to be used in the transport of quad bikes was also seized.

One man was arrested during the Garda search and is due to appear before Naas District Court later this month.
