Progressive Genetics has launched a free “progeny pictures” draw for beef sires this week…with a prize fund of €500 up for grabs for winning snaps.

Noting that it appreciates the time that its customers take to send in progeny pictures, the firm devised the draw as a way to reward these efforts.

Noting that “a picture says a thousand words”, Progressive Genetics noted that the competition will be open for the next four weeks, adding:

Everyone who send us in progeny pictures between Monday, July 27, and Friday, August 21, will be entered in a draw and their progeny pictures will be considered for the next beef catalogue – and also the next Prestige Limousin, Prestige Charolais and Prestige Angus catalogues.

We would prefer if entries came primarily via our Facebook page although we can take entries via Instagram and Twitter as well, ideally the highest definition possible,” the company said.

“A farmer can enter as many times as they wish – but one time per animal, we may consider putting in two entries per picture for progeny not sired by Gazelle ZAG or Fiston FSZ, if the need arises,” Progressive noted.

Advice on what to watch out for when taking the photograph, as well as what to avoid, can be found on the firm’s website.

Prizes:
  • Progressive Genetics voucher worth €150;
  • Progressive Genetics voucher worth €100;
  • Progressive Genetics voucher worth €75;
  • AgriNet HerdApp – one year subscription of €100;
  • Farm Wardrobe voucher worth €50.

The company noted that terms and conditions apply, adding that all progeny must be sired by Progressive Genetics and NCBC bulls to enter the draw; if outside of the Progressive Genetics area participants will only be entered in the Farm Wardrobe and AgriNet HerdApp draws.
