Farmers who visit the Agriland stand at this year’s National Ploughing Championships will be in with a chance to win the use of a Merlo Multifarmer Telescopic Handler for a year.

The lucky winner will have the free use of a Merlo Multifarmer telescopic handler from mid-January to mid-December 2025 or for 1,000 recorded operating hours, whichever comes first.

The machine is a telescopic handler equipped with a three-point rear linkage, rear mechanical PTO, and a hydraulic pick-up hitch, making it ideal for handling, towing, and light field tasks.

The prize also includes pallet forks, a bucket, and a muck fork with grab.

To enter the competition farmers can call to the Agriland tent located at Block 3, Row 15, Stand 289 at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska. Co. Laois and sign up for the free Agriland newsletter.

The prize draw is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland who are 18 years-of-age or older at the time of entry and engaged in dairy/livestock farming activities.

Merlo Multifarmer

The innovative Merlo Multifarmer combines the capabilities of a telehandler with the essential features of a tractor.

Often hailed as the ‘Swiss Army knife of farm machinery’, the Multifarmer offers versatility for a wide range of agricultural tasks, making it a valuable addition to any farm.

The machine is capable of performing all kinds of tasks, from handling to carrying or towing attachments activated by power take-off (PTO).

It can bale, load, tow, and operate field equipment meaning that it is perfect for boosting productivity during peak season.

The Multifarmer has a patented telescopic boom which is ideal for both handling operations and agricultural tasks when additional capacity may be required.

The stage V diesel engine is managed by Merlo’s Eco Power Drive (EPD) system, which enables reductions in fuel consumption.

Equipped with a 32t towing hook and dual-speed PTO, the Multifarmer can support lighter field tasks while freeing up a farmer’s main tractors for bigger jobs.

All Merlo cabs are designed for operator comfort with excellent visibility and ergonomics, making long workdays easier and more productive.

The winner will be selected in a random draw on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
