Parts from a Welger RP200 baler were stolen from such a machine in Co. Offaly in recent weeks – prompting an appeal for information to be made by An Garda Síochána.
Taking to social media last night, Monday, August 3, Gardaí based in the Laois-Offaly region said:
“Side and top covers of a Welger RP200 baler similar to these pictures [have been] stolen from [a] baler in Cloghan between Wednesday, July 15, and Friday, July 31.
“Probably stolen for [a] similar machine. If you are offered similar [parts] or have any information please contact Birr Garda Station,” the Garda statement added.

Trailer and chainsaw stolen in midlands raids
Two separate raids resulted in the theft of a trailer and a chainsaw among other property amid a spate of robberies in the midlands in recent days.
In Co. Laois, Abbeyleix Gardaí are investigating the theft of a 8ft X 4ft Ifor Williams trailer, with a ladder rack.
According to local Gardaí, the trailer was taken on Wednesday night, July 29, between 7:00pm and 7:00am from the Granstown area of Ballacolla.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious in the surrounding area could they contact Abbeyleix Garda Station on: 057-8730580,” the Garda statement said.
Meanwhile, in Co. Offaly, Birr Gardaí are investigating the theft of a Husqvarna chainsaw 135, a Husqvarna extension hedge trimmer, a Husqvarna leaf blower and four cast iron flower pots.
According to investigating Gardaí, the tools and pots were taken between Thursday, July 23, and Monday, July 27, from a premises on Military Road, Birr.
