Just over €229,000 has been issued in outstanding scheme payments by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) this week.

Latest scheme payment data shows that a total of €109,565.22 of the payments went towards the 2023 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).

The figure includes the 2023 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers (€37.8 million) and the 2023 National Reserve (€4.6 million).

Additional payments brings the total number of farmers paid under the 2023 BISS and CRISS schemes to 120,506, with a cost figure of €845.14 million spent by the department so far.

A further €1,421.132 was spent under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) this week.

Total TAMS 3 payments issued to date now exceed €12 million. Data shows that 17,515 approvals have been issued, with 2,885 payment applications submitted, of which 1,304 payments have been made.

There were no further payments made under TAMS 2, with the total amount paid still exceeding €459 million. There has been 56,676 approvals issued to date, with 37,670 payment applications submitted and a total of 37,298 payments made.

Scheme payments

Under the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS), a further €94,759.05 was paid this week, bringing the total number of farmers to receive payments for 2023 to 3,915. A total of €47.9 million has been paid out under the scheme so far.

Another €8,000 was also paid out under the Green, Low-carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS), which was replaced by the Agri-Climate Rural Environment (ACRES) Scheme.

The department paid out a further €15,912.25 under the Straw Incorporation Measure (SIM) 2023, bringing the total amount paid so far to €15.50 million to 3,386 farmers.

No further payments were made under the Fodder Support Scheme, Sheep Improvement Scheme or the Shannon Callows Flood Scheme this week.
