The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has issued over €182 million this week in various farm scheme payments.

Payments under the Areas of Natural Constraints (ANC) scheme commenced issuing to farmers this week.

These advance payments totalling €179 million have issued to over 85,000 farmers.

The payments are an 85% advance payment, with the remaining 15% balance due to commence in early December.

The ANC scheme provides payments to people farming land in designated areas which face significant hardships from factors such as remoteness, difficult topography, climatic problems and poor soil conditions.

TAMS

The latest data published by the department shows that a further €1.9 million was paid out under Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3).

TAMS 3, which includes 11 sub-schemes, provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.

54,432 approvals have been issued to date under TAMS 3, with 24,338 payment applications submitted.

Over €190 million has now been paid under the scheme with just over 21,100 payments issued.

Fuel support

Under the Fuel Income Support Scheme, over €265,500 was paid out this week to farmers.

This brings total payments to €26.1 million with 30,890 farmers paid.

Under the 2025 Eco Scheme, over €129,000 was paid out this week.

€50,000 was paid to farmers under the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES).

Under the Organic Farming Scheme, €6,260 was paid this week.
