An online education resource, providing best-practice knowledge on a variety of forage management topics, will be officially unveiled to Irish farmers by Germinal at this year’s Tullamore Show – which will take place this Sunday, August 13.
Described by the seed company as “innovative and easily accessible”, the online tool is dubbed G-Source.
The digital platform is responsive across all handheld and desktop devices for use in-field, from the farm office or at home, Germinal has announced.
The information provided is channeled as video animations, printable infographics or extended information text guides.
G-Source also has a library of expert advice videos called G-Talks from industry experts, including the team at Germinal, the company has confirmed.
G-Talks will be updated on a regular basis and built into a “comprehensive resource” that a farmer, student or farm worker can tap into when looking for advice to help maximise returns from forage.
Dermot Campion, General Manager for Germinal, commented ahead of the launch, saying: “From wider industry insight, we know that there are lost opportunities to make better use of homegrown feed resources.
“One of the main reasons we hear for not making better use of homegrown forage is a lack of knowledge, so we have created G-Source to help bridge the gap.
G-Source is designed help livestock farmers increase their use of homegrown forage, and ultimately drive down their costs of production.
Germinal announced that it will have a draw at its stand at the Tullamore Show – for those that sign up on the day – to win €500 of Germinal grass seed.
