2,033 new tractors have been registered in Ireland in the first nine months of 2026, new data from the Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) shows.
The latest FTMTA Statistics Service Report for September 2026 states this represents a 6% increase over the same nine-month period in 2025.
The September 2026 new tractor market at 113 units was exactly the same number as registered as the same month last year.
Cork, Galway, Meath and Tipperary each delivered an equal eight new tractor registrations for September.
The 101hp to 121hp category and the 161hp to 200hp category shared the lead in terms of power bands for September 2026, each accounting for 21% of all new tractor registrations.
The monthly average tractor horsepower figure for September 2026 was 145hp, and the largest tractors registered were each rated at 343hp.
236 imported used tractors were first-time registered in Ireland in September 2026, five units less than in September 2025.
There were 2,184 used tractors first time registered in Ireland for the year to the end of September 2026.

The FTMTA data also show the Irish market for new telescopic loaders saw a 9% decrease in September 2026 at 51 units.
The two leading brands for the year to date, JCB and Manitou accounted for 70% of the total year to date market, with Weidemann ahead of Kramer and Merlo.
There were 42 imported used telescopic loaders registered in September 2026.
This marks a significant reduction from the 60 units registered in September 2025.
In the wheeled loader market, nine units were registered in September, a 17% increase compared with September 2025.
The Chinese manufactured machines at the lower price end of the market accounted for 56% of the new wheeled loader registrations.
There were 13 imported used wheeled loaders registered in September 2026 compared with 10 registered in September 2025.
The report shows a 62% drop for the Irish backhoe loader market in September 2026 with three new machines registered. However, the year to date figure shows a 10% increase.
There were three used backhoe loaders registered in Ireland in September 2026 compared with four in September 2025.
There were 25 new utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) registered in Ireland in September 2026, compared with 16 in September 2025.
There were four used imported UTVs registered for the first time in September 2026 compared with two in September 2025.
