National forecaster, Met Éireann has issued a warning for widespread mist and fog which will affect most counties from this evening (Tuesday, November 12).
A Status Yellow fog warning will come into effect at 6:00p.m today for all of Leinster and Munster, as well Co. Cavan, Monaghan, Galway, Leitrim and Roscommon.
Met Éireann warns of poor visibility and hazardous travelling conditions in these counties. The fog warning will remain in place until 10:00a.m tomorrow (Wednesday, November 13).
Today, any lingering areas of mist or fog will largely clear to leave it dry with spells of hazy sunshine. Highest temperatures will range from 7° to 12° in a light variable breeze, coolest inland where fog will be more stubborn to clear.
The national forecaster said tonight will be calm and foggy once again, especially across the south midlands. Tonight will be dry apart from the odd spot of drizzle.
Lowest temperatures will generally range from 1° to 5° tonight with perhaps a touch of frost where skies remain clearer. It will be less chilly across counties in the west and north-west with lows of 6° to 9°.
Overnight mist and fog will clear tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies for the day, and some sunny spells in parts. While there will be a good deal of dry weather, it will be damp in places with patches of mist and drizzle, especially in the north-west.
Highest temperatures will range from 9° to 13° tomorrow in light variable mainly north-west breezes. Tomorrow night will be mostly cloudy with patches of mist and drizzle and lowest temperatures of 5° to 10° in light northerly winds.
