An appeal for information has been made in relation to a collision which took place between a car and a tractor last week which left one man seriously injured.
The incident occurred last Thursday evening, November 26, in the Killough region of Co. Down, according to local members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
In a plea for information, PSNI officers based in Co. Down said:
“Police investigating a road traffic collision in Killough on Thursday evening, November 26, are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage.”
Sergeant Danny Bowen said: “Police received a report at around 5:20pm that a car had collided with a tractor in the Dowpatrick Road area of Killough.
One male was taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries, which are described as serious.
“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to contact Police on 101, quoting reference number 1458 of 26/11/20.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on: 0800-555-111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
Stolen tractor abandoned and recovered
Meanwhile, in the Republic of Ireland, investigations are underway after a tractor was stolen and subsequently abandoned and recovered in Co. Laois last week.
The incident occurred during the small hours of Wednesday, November 23, according to local Gardaí.
In an appeal for information in relation to the incident, members of An Garda Síochána based in the Laois-Offaly division said:
“Portlaoise Gardaí are investigating the theft of this tractor which was stolen on the night of the November 22, 2020, into the morning of [Wednesday] November 23.
The tractor was stolen in the Clonaslee area and subsequently abandoned and recovered in the Redcastle area of Mountrath in the early hours of the morning of November 23.
“If anyone saw this tractor travelling between Clonaslee and Mountrath, please contact Portlaoise Detective Unit at: 057-8674100,” the Garda appeal concluded.
