At the Tullamore Show today, Macra na Feirme is highlighting changes to driving license requirements concerning the pulling of trailers by farm workers.

Offaly Macra and the reigning Queen of the Land, Teresa Brennan, from Laois, will be asking you for your best chat up lines to see if you are licensed to pull! Drop in and give Teresa your best line for the chance to win a fabulous Macra jacket!

Changes to driving license categories have meant that many drivers, who are not licensed to pull a trailer behind their vehicle, are not aware they are breaking the law. Macra na Feirme are calling on everyone that owns a trailer to have a look at the category of their licence and if they do not have category ‘EB’, they should apply for a provisional licence immediately and apply to do a test.

The main highlight at the Macra stand is the All-Ireland final of Macra’s FBD Farmskills Competition. The teams taking part are Cushinstown Macra, Wexford; East Laois Macra;  Midleton Macra, Imokilly, Cork; Awbeg Macra, Avondhu, Cork; Moynalty Macra, Meath and Castlerea Macra, Roscommon.

Offaly Macra will be on hand all day to talk about Macra locally and recruit new members.

Follow the signs for the Macra stand and the FBD Farmskills final! Results later today!
