The location for the 2027 National Ploughing Championships has been revealed.

Rathangan, Co. Kildare will host next year's event from September 21-23.

The three-day event, one of the biggest outdoor events in Europe, traditionally takes place around the third week in September.

However, it is set to be moved back by one week in 2027 to prevent a clash with the Ryder Cup.

Ploughing 2026

The announcement follows a successful Ploughing 2026 held in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

A total of 243,000 attended this year's event.

The National Ploughing Association (NPA) confirmed that 75,000 attended the third day of the event today (Thursday, September 17) at Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

This adds to the 77,000 who attended on Tuesday and 91,000 who attended on Wednesday.

The total attendance over the three days is an increase on the 225,500 that attended last year's Ploughing.

It was an action-packed event this year, with visitors enjoying a programme full of ploughing, livestock, food, fashion and entertainment.

President Catherine Connolly officially opened the 95th National Ploughing Championships on Tuesday, which marked the beginning of the event celebrating the very best of Irish agriculture, enterprise and rural life.
