Pricing products is always a tricky exercise for companies such as Krone, especially in the current challenging market as farmers keep their chequebooks closed while the rain refuses to stop.

In a bid to encourage sales, Krone has announced two incentives designed to encourage the purchase of its grassland equipment.

The first is a package of finance options that starts off by offering 0% interest on half the value of a machine over a three-year period.

Low cost finance options are available on Krone grassland machines

This rises to 3.9% APR if purchased over five years, but is available on 100% of the value of the machine.

A low rate of 4.4% is also available for a 5-year term and this too applies to the whole cost of the machine, including VAT.

These deals apply only to mowers tedders and rakes sold in the Republic of Ireland; the larger self-propelled machines are not included, nor is the Premos field press.

Krone extends warranty

Extending warranties in a bid to encourage sales is nothing new, but Krone has taken the unusual step of backdating the warranty to cover equipment purchased last year.

This will mean that most mowers, tedders and rakes purchased in 2023 or 2024 will enjoy a two-year warranty.

A further year warranty is available on most Krone grassland equipment

The company is offering the extension on mowers, tedders and rakes on condition that the purchase is registered on Krone website before May 31, 2024. Having done so, the the warranty will automatically apply.

However the extension does not apply to rear butterfly mowers, four- and six-rotor rakes.

Commenting on the campaign, sales and marketing director for Farmhand, Stephen Scrivener said: “With interest rates at an all-time high, it’s encouraging that Krone [has] launched this 0% finance campaign.

“The fact that they have included a second year warranty demonstrates their confidence in their machines.”

These deals come after similar reduced interest finance deals were announced for Amazone fertiliser spreaders.
