An Irish renewable energy company has renewed its partnership with a European solar system provider in a new multi-year agreement.

Headquartered in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Local Power has been a SOLARWATT UK & Ireland customer and partner for more than a decade, supplying solar PV and battery storage solutions to farms, businesses, and homes across Ireland.

The companies announced their new deal during Intersolar Europe in Munich, the world's leading exhibition for the solar industry.

In a statement, Local Power said the renewed agreement reinforces the companies' shared commitment to delivering "premium, future-ready renewable energy systems backed by German engineering, European warranties and intelligent energy management".

Pat Smith, managing director of Local Power, welcomed the agreement, highlighting the continued strength of the partnership.

He said: "We are delighted to have secured a new multi-year agreement with SOLARWATT, enabling us to continue offering our customers some of the most innovative and robust solar PV and battery storage solutions available.

“We have proudly partnered with SOLARWATT in Ireland for more than 10 years and remain committed to delivering premium German-engineered products backed by European warranties.”

Smith praised the SOLARWATT Battery vision system, which he said was developed in cooperation with German car manufacturer BMW, and provides “innovative” residential and farm energy storage solutions.

He added: “SOLARWATT pioneered glass-glass solar module technology, and we were proud to be the first company to introduce this premium technology to the Irish market over a decade ago.”

A glass solar module (sometimes called a “glass-glass" or "double-glass" panel) is a design that replaces traditional flexible plastic backings with a second layer of tempered glass.

This sandwich structure promises more durability and weather resistance.

Smith added: “Today, SOLARWATT offers a truly integrated home and business energy system.

"From premium solar panels and inverters to battery storage, intelligent energy management and EV charging, every component is designed to work seamlessly together.

“Having a single manufacturer supporting the complete system gives our customers confidence through one point of supply, comprehensive warranty support and long-term service.”

Irish market

Peter Bachmann, chief product officer and managing director of SOLARWATT, said the renewed agreement reflects the strength of the long-standing relationship between the two companies.

He said: "We are delighted to extend our partnership with Local Power and continue supporting their excellent work in the Irish market.

“Over the past decade, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions and exceptional customer service.

“Together, we share a commitment to providing homeowners, farms and businesses with premium, integrated energy systems that deliver outstanding performance, long-term reliability and greater energy independence.”

Bachman added that partnerships like this are “fundamental” to helping customers transition to clean energy.

He said that, together with BMW, SOLARWATT continues to invest in the next generation of integrated home energy solutions.

“We look forward to bringing further innovations to the Irish market as we continue helping customers maximise their use of clean, renewable energy," he added.
