A series of high-profile speakers are scheduled to give presentations at this evening’s ‘Agricultural Talk’ being organised by Carrigaline Macra na Feirme in Co. Cork.

In 2016, over 600 young farmers attended the event and it is hoped a similar – or greater attendance – will be witnessed this evening.

The Agricultural Talk is set to get underway this evening (Monday, November 27) in the Estuary Suite in Rochestown Park Hotel.

A number of agri technology and farm companies are expected to take part in an information hub from 6:00pm until 7:30pm.

Once the information hub comes to an end, the conference is scheduled to get underway. The key topic of this evening’s event is ‘Growing Irish Agriculture into the Future’.

Speakers at the conference will include the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Brexit Simon Coveney. A presentation will also be delivered by the CEO of Dairygold Co-op, Jim Woulfe.

Other speakers will include: Cormac Healy, the senior director of Meat Industry Ireland; Tadhg Buckley, AIB senior agricultural advisor; and Robert Mulhall, AIB managing director, retail and commercial banking Ireland.

Dr. Jason van der Velde, from West Cork Rapid Response, will give a presentation of what can be done to prevent or minimise trauma resulting from accidents.

A questions and answers session is scheduled to take place after the conference. Any member of the general public – young or old – is invited to attend this agri event.
