The Premier Hereford Spring Show and Sale will be held at GVM mart in Tullamore on Saturday, March 23.
The show will begin at 10:00a.m, followed by the sale at 1:00p.m sharp.

Pre-inspections and catalogue
All cattle were pre-inspected on farm in the last six weeks. Each animal was also weighed on farm.
The final entry stands at 33 bulls and one heifer for sale this weekend. The full catalogue is available at irishhereford.com.
Of the 33 bulls:
- 85% are rated four/five star on the terminal index;
- 80% are rated four/five star for carcase weight or carcase confirmation;
- 80% are above breed average on the dairy beef index (DBI);
- All bulls will be sire verified, semen checked, tested for hypotrichosis.
Seamus Nagle from Bull Bank will be judging the classes in the pre-sale show.
Eamonn Gaffney will be returning as the auctioneer at the sale. Eamonn got his baptism of fire during the Hereford sales in 2022, and is looking forward to selling some high quality bulls for Hereford breeders this spring.

Lot 2: Portanob Resolve was born on March 29, 2022. He is sired by Ardmulchan Result – a church preen Galileo.
He has a five star terminal index, and a calving figure of 3.8% on dairy cows. He has a Dairy Beef Index (DBI) of €104.
He has five stars for carcase confirmation and weighs 12.5kg.
Lot 4: Griananpoll 1 Whizkid was born in April 2022 and is homozygous polled. He is sired by CCR Stamina.
He has five stars for the Replacement and Terminal Indexes, -0.6 days for gestation, five stars for carcase weight (10.3kg), and 6.6kg for milk.
Lot 6 Fortviewpoll 1 Robert was born on May 15, 2022, and is sired by Solpoll 1 Pounder.
He has a five star Replacement and Terminal Index, is five stars for the conformation and four stars for milk. He has a calving index of 3.4%.
Lot 7 Corranpoll 1 Jameson was born on May 19, 2022 and is sired by Panmure 1 Henry son.
He has a five star Terminal Index, DBI value of €113 and 3.2% for dairy cows. He has a very low beef cow calving figure of 1.6% and is 3.9% for beef heifers.
He has a very easy beef cow calving of 1.6% and heifers of 3.9%.
Lot 10 Dromona Tommy ET was born on July 26, 2022. He is sired by Haven Wizard.
He has five stars for both the Replacement and Terminal Index, with a DBI of €111. He has a dairy cow calving figure of 3.6%, a low beef cow calving figure of 1.5% and is rated 3.9% on beef heifers.
Tommy’s carcass weight is +12.8kg and his dam is the former Munster cow of the year.
Lot 11: Chestnutpoll 1 Henry 62 was born on July 27, 2022. He is sired by Panmure 1 Henry.
He has five stars for the Replacement (€137) and Terminal Index, and a DBI value of €120.
Lot 13: Avillepoll 1 Raksha was born on August 21, 2022. He is sired by Dernaroy 1 Oscar.
He has five stars for the Terminal Index, carcass confirmation and milk, and is €111 for DBI.
Lot 15: Chestnutpoll 1 Duke 63 was born August 28, 2022. He is sired by Fabb 1 Northern Star.
He has five stars for the Replacement Index (€176) and the Terminal Index, and a carcass weight of +11.3kg.
Five star carcass conformation and milk, DBI is €136 and gestation is -1 day.
Lot 18: Ardmulchan Upside Down was born on September 2, 2022. He is sired by Ballinveney Tiger.
He has four stars for the Replacement Index, five stars for the Terminal Index and carcass weight (+10.7kg) and a DBI of €107.
Very low beef calving at 1.5% and beef heifer at 4.3%.
Lot 23: Corlismorepoll 1 Escobar 215 was born on October 1, 2022. Sired by Solpoll 1 Real Good Et – the first son of this sire for sale at auction.
His dam is the famous Sydney line – Corlismorepoll 1 I S Gem 806. He has four stars for Replacement, five stars for Terminal and has a carcass weight of+12.2kg.
He has a DBI of €116, is 2.6% for beef calving and 3.9% dairy cow calving.
Lot 26: Appel 1 Baptiste was born on October 19, 2022.
Sired by Fab 1 Northern Star, he has five stars on the Replacement Index at€142, five star for milk, with four stars for the Terminal Index.
He is -0.6 days for gestation and is 2.3% for beef cow calving.
Lot 25: Woodviewpoll 1 Tomboy was born on November 8, 2022. Sired by Fisher 1 Profile and bred from a Fabb 1 Northern Star dam.
He has four stars for the Replacement Index, five stars for the Terminal Index and five-star conformation, with a DBI of €110 and -0.7 days for gestation.
Bawnlea 1 Enzo Ferrari was born on December 16, 2022. Sired by Gouldingpoll 1 Superstar ET and bred from Glaslough Tin, a Clondrina 1110th dam – winner of the 2023 Muster Cow of the Year.
He has five stars for the Replacement Index and the Terminal Index, a carcass weight of +10.1kg, and is also five stars for carcass conformation and milk.
Lot 32: Crowenstown Tinsel Tommy was born on December 22, 2022. He is sired by Breed Improvement sire, Hollow Point Broker and is bred from 1st prize winner in Tullamore from 2021-2023 – Grianan Orange V911.
He has four stars for replacement index and milk and a five star term terminal index. He has a carcase weight of 11.9kg, a DBI of €117, dairy cow calving of 3.6%, beef cow calving of 1.9% and beef heifer 4.4%.
Tommy was 1st prize winner at several shows in 2023.
Lot 33: Crowenstown Hanley was born March 17, 2023. He is sired by Conmelvin Ollie and was bred from Cave Hill Store dam, Crowenstown Aretuhsa Ivy.
He won 1st prize winner in Tullamore in 2022. He has five stars for the replacement (€138) and the Terminal Index.
