As a sign of the growing influence of technology on farming, Herdwatch has been invited by Enterprise Ireland to attend Teagasc’s Beef 2014 Open Day in Grange on June 18 in the EI Innovation Village.

Herdwatch is a farming app. and software package for beef and dairy farmers. Farmers can use the Herdwatch Farming App. and Software Package to register calves on their phone in seconds, and stay compliant by recording their remedies directly on your phone anytime, anywhere.

Herdwatch is fully approved by the Department of Agriculture and ICBF, it’s very easy to use, and works on most smartphones, tablets and even computers. With it, farmers can register calves in seconds, record remedies as they happen, and manage breeding, anytime, anywhere. Users don’t even need to manually enter animals as they are loaded directly into Herdwatch from the Department’s herd register.

Herdwatch is going from strength to strength with hundreds of farmers signing up in just four months, and the feedback is extremely positive.

Fabien Peyaud, Herdwatch co-founder, says ‘We are delighted that the feedback has been so positive and are confident that farmers will replace their blue books and reduce paperwork by using Herdwatch. We are hearing comments like ‘we have been waiting for something like this for years’ and ‘it’s very user friendly’, ‘value for money’ and that they ‘wouldn’t be without it’. We find that once farmers take the first step and start using Herdwatch, they quickly reap the benefits and are surprised at how easy it is to adopt into their daily working lives on the farm.’

Herdwatch will be running a special offer of 15 months for the price of 12 for anyone who signs up on the day for just €99 inc VAT, and they will also be in with a chance to win an iPad.  Text “frs 28” to 51444 to receive a call back from the Herdwatch team or find out more at the Teagasc’s Beef Open Day in Grange on June 18th or visit www.herdwatch.ie.
