A number of agricultural companies are currently looking for candidates for a variety of roles around the country at the moment.

Just weeks after Teagasc advertised 20 temporary education officer roles, and ABP sought 30 graduates, Dawn Meats is now looking for candidates for its graduate programme.

Dawn Meats is looking for “dynamic and ambitious graduates’ to join its management team. Dawn Meats has a turnover of over €1bn and currently employs over 3,000 people in 12 countries. The areas it is looking to recruit in include: cattle procurement; planning; sales/marketing and engineering.

Glanbia is also looking for candidates for its graduate programme from a range of disciplines, including accounting, finance, agricultural science, digital media and engineering. Details can be found here.

Kerry Group is also looking for graduates for areas including R&D, accounting, finance, sales and marketing and HR.

Meanwhile, Seed Technology is looking for a Crop Research and Production Technician. Based in Waterford, the role is based around the successful delivery of variety and agronomy trials of maize, beet, oilseed rape and other crops. Quality control, agronomy and harvest management of seed production crops as well as assisting the sales and marketing team in production information and technical bulletins are also part of the role.

Seed Technology is looking for candidates with at least two years’ experience in crop management, along with an agronomic qualification and a keen interest in crops. Full details can be found here.

Lely Ireland is looking to recruit an Area Sales Representative, based in Thurles, Tipperary. Due to significant growth in robotic milking, Lely says the role will involve pro-actively selling and promoting the Lely range of automated milking systems and small barn equipment.

It will also mean participating in shows, ensuring customer satisfaction and candidates should be comfortable and competent on selling and promoting the product range; excellent sales skills and good communication skills. Details of the role can be found here.
