Gardaí are appealing for information following the recent theft of a tractor from a farm in Co. Kildare.

The Massey Ferguson tractor is understood to have been taken from a farm on Millicent Road in Clane in the early hours of Thursday, September 17.

Garda Órlaith Fahy from Clane Garda Station told KFM that a witness had seen a black Nissan X-Trail jeep driving in front of the tractor and appeared to be guiding it.

It is understood that between three and four males were on board the jeep which drove towards the Downings and Prosperous.

The registration of the black Nissan X-Trail, which gardaí are seeking to trace, is 06-D-71842.

In a statement to Agriland, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed: "Gardaí are investigating following a report of a theft of a tractor at a residential premises in Clane, Co. Kildare in the early hours of Thursday, September 17, 2026".

The spokesperson added that "investigations are ongoing".

Separately, gardaí are appealing for information following the theft of two batteries from a tractor in Co. Donegal.

The burglary occurred at what gardaí described as a "business premises" located on the Ballyduff Road in Lifford.

The incident occurred between 6:00p.m last Friday (September 18) and 1:00p.m on Saturday (September 19).

Two batteries were stolen from a tractor that was parked outside the premises.
