A horse recently seized by Carlow-Kilkenny Gardaí has had a shock reunion with its foal which was recovered by Gardaí in a separate raid.

The charity My Lovely Horse Rescue released a video on Facebook explaining that a mare horse which has been named Lydia, was recovered by Gardaí and the horse was discovered to be in foal and bearing milk.

In a separate raid, Gardaí seized another foal and it was confirmed that this foal did indeed belong to Lydia, and they were reunited through My Lovely Horse Rescue.

The animals were seized in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2013.

In another raid, Gardaí in Kilkenny also seized a miniature foal – also seized for breaches of the Animal Welfare Act 2013.

Tractor Driver Sought Following Road Collision

The driver of a green tractor is being sought by authorities in Co. Tyrone, in Northern Ireland, following a road traffic collision which occurred last week.

The incident involved a the driver of a “green tractor” who provided details which appear to have been incorrect, according to members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) based in Co. Tyrone.

Taking to social media in a plea for information on the matter, local PSNI officers said:

“Police would like to speak to the driver of a green tractor believed to have been involved in a road traffic collision with a BMW X2 on the Stangmore Roundabout, Dungannon, on Thursday, September 3.

The collision occurred at around 8:00pm that day. The driver of the green tractor did stop and provide details but it appears that the details provided are incorrect.

“If you were the driver of this green tractor or observed the road traffic collision and may be able to help police with their enquiries, please call 101 quoting crime reference number 1983 of September 3, 2020,” the police statement concluded.
