AGCO has unveiled its second generation Fendt 1100 Vario Multi-Track (MT), which is capable of nearly 700hp.

The launch took place in the US on Tuesday (September 1) at the 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.

AGCO said its most powerful tractor is "delivering tremendous power, productivity and versatility in high-horsepower applications".

With a range from 521-680hp, the 1100 series certainly is not lacking in power, and can travel 40km/h, in line with other tracked tractors of its size.

That power, combined with max torque ranging between 2500-3100Nm, is achieved at the low rate of 1700rpm due to the Fendt iD low-speed concept.

The line of machinery features a fuel tank of 1,370L and AdBlue tank of 141L.

The 1151, 1156 and 1162 tractors are making use of a 15.2L MAN D38 engine, while the top-of-the-range model 1167 uses a 16.2L MAN D42 engine.

Combined with the reinforced VarioDrive drivetrain to handle the high horsepower and the steerable drawbar or three-point connection that actively moves based on steering input, the tractor has a lot of bells and whistles to pull from.

Cabin

Fendt has targeted ergonomics with the cab for the new 1100 series.

The German company said: "What matters most is how well-rested and focused the driver is when they leave the cab after a long shift - and how keen they are to get back behind the wheel again the next day."

Fendt claims that its air filter automatic dust extraction system "gently cleans the cab on a continuous basis by preventing dust-laden air from reaching it".

This is intended to keep the air the operator is working in clean while reducing dirt in the cabin.

The leather air-conditioned seat allows for 36° rotation to the right, which the company says allows for a clear view of the implement.

The chair also rotates 8° left to help improve exit and entry from the door to the seat.

Fendt has also included three footrests near the pedals and a 12L compressor-cooled cool box that can drop temperature to as low as -10°C.

The tractor has access to the company's FendtONE operating system that allows the operator to control the tractor, implements, guidance, and automation from one screen.

The operator can also automate repetitive work through the system and memorise different implements' settings, meaning that tractor drivers do not need to set up machines when they put a different one on the tractor.

History

The second generation of the Fendt 1100 Vario MT is heavily focused on productivity, power and reliability.

According to Fendt, this machine shows how far their tracked tractors have come, having shed their Challenger coats, to produce a Fendt with the learnings of the iconic yellow machines.

When the 1100 series had first launched, it had retained a lot of technology from the Challenger MT800 tractors.

During Covid-19, Fendt refreshed the 1100 series, stripping away a lot of the Challenger parts and rebuilding it with a lot more Fendt DNA.

The updated model was released as part of Model Year 2021 and would go on to win the Audience Choice Award at the 2022 Farm Machine Awards.

The refreshed design addressed many of the complaints with the 1100 series, and led to one member of the jury (Helmut Suess, agricultural technology editor of Germany's largest agricultural trade magazine) calling the tractor a "masterpiece".

US announcement

AGCO senior vice president of customer success and North American agriculture, Stefan Caspari, spoke at the show about decision to do a global launch from the US.

"Hosting our first global tractor launch in the US reflects the investments AGCO and Fendt are making in this region.

"(Fendt) Gold Star Customer Care is our commitment in writing, protecting uptime and the Fendt ownership experience," Caspari said.

AGCO has seen growth in the North American region for Fendt on the North American market.

With a market for tracked machinery in the US, launching the Fendt 1100 Vario Multi-Track (MT) at the Farm Progress Show may help boost the brand further.
