An Rialálái Agraibhia (Agri-Food Regulator) is pleased to attend the National Ploughing Championship for the second year.

The Regulator’s stand is in the Government of Ireland Village in the ‘Supporting Business | Supporting People’ hub located in Block 3 on Row 14 at Stand 276.

Established in December 2023, the Agri-Food Regulator’s remit is to promote fairness and transparency in the agri-food supply chain.

Staff from the Regulator will be at the stand each day to chat to farmers about what the Regulator can do for them.

The Regulator is currently running an online survey of primary producers (farmers, fishers and growers) on their trading experiences in the past 12 months with the buyers of their agri-food produce.

Staff members will have tablets to allow attendees to easily complete the five-minute survey, as the feedback is invaluable to informing the work of the Regulator.

Visitors to the stand can learn about the legal protections that the Unfair Trading Regulations provide to suppliers of agri-food products, what the 16 specific unfair trading practices (UTP) are, and how to make a confidential complaint or tip-off if they feel they were subjected to a UTP.

There is also the opportunity to discover more about the information the Regulator publishes on price and market data that can help your business.

Sectoral reports in the dairy, horticulture and egg and poultry sectors, including interactive dashboards, are available to view on the Regulator’s website.

So, if you are curious about the role of the Regulator, wish to complete the survey, or have any questions about unfair trading law or price and market data - please stop by and say hello.
