Devenish is to sponsor the Meath Senior Football Team for the next three years, it was announced at the Meath GAA county convention last night, December 12.

The animal nutrition company, which is headquartered in Belfast, specialises in delivering innovative scientific solutions and technical expertise for the livestock industry and for human health.

Executive Chairman of Devenish, Owen Brennan, who lives in Beauparc, outside Slane in Co. Meath, said on behalf of Devenish, he is delighted to support the Meath Senior Football Team over the next three years.

Agricultural-related companies sponsoring GAA teams is a common occurrence.

In one of the longest standing sponsorship arrangements, Kerry Group has sponsored Kerry’s inter-county teams since the 1990s.

Glanbia has sponsored Kilkenny for the past number of years, with the Avonmore brand name emblazoned across the black and amber jerseys.

Earlier this year, Aurivo announced that its Connacht Gold brand will be sponsoring the Sligo Ladies Gaelic Football for the next three years.

Last year, Aurivo sponsored a specially commissioned jersey in Donegal’s first championship match against Tyrone with the farm safety message ‘Stay Safe on The Farm’.

In the sunny south east, Gain Feeds sponsors the Wexford inter-county teams while in Offaly and Kildare, Carrolls Cuisine and Brady Family Ham are the respective sponsors.

Finally, Supermacs has sponsored Galway intercounty teams for the past 26 years.
