This figure includes 2023 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers (€29.6 million) and 2023 National Reserve (€4.3 million).

The new data also shows that an additional €1.7 million was paid by the department to farmers who are in the Eco-Scheme as part of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

DAFM said that some 119,319 farmers have now been allocated a total of €305.7 million under the scheme.

The department figures show that €676,906 was also paid out under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS).

Earlier this week, DAFM confirmed that its officials are still processing 1,112 applications made by farmers under tranche 1 of the new TAMS 3.

The latest data, published on Monday (March 25) shows that a further 179 TAMS tranche 1 applications were granted approval during the previous six days.

This means that over 77% or 6,360 applications out of a total 8,203 have now been given the green light by the department.

The statistics show that 527 applications have been rejected to date, while 204 have been withdrawn by farmers or their advisors.

Department staff are currently assessing 9,110 applications made by farmers under tranche 2 of TAMS 3, which is an increase of 11% when compared with the first application round.
