Nestled in Co. Kildare, close to the village of Caragh, is a circa 65ac (26.39ha) block of ‘excellent quality’ land currently on the market.

Located at Oldtown, Donore, Caragh, Co. Kildare, Jordan Auctioneers is facilitating the sale via public auction on Friday, July 24, at 3:00pm at the lands. The property has a guide price of €700,000.

The property itself is easily accessible to a wide range of locations including Caragh (2.5km); Naas (8.5km); Sallins (9km); Clane (9km); Newbridge (12km); and the M7 (10km).

The entire property is in three divisions, mostly in beans, with a smaller section of about 5ac in grass. It has extensive frontage of about 200m onto Sticken’s Lane.

According to the auctioneers, it is generally very good-quality land, ideal for any number of uses, with natural boundaries and hedgerows throughout.

It is currently on the market as a retirement sale. Prior to this, it has always been an outfarm for the current owners and was primarily in tillage but was in grass also at one point.

There is a lovely aspect towards the church in Caragh and the entire would make a good site for a residence, subject to obtaining the necessary planning permissions.

Overall, it’s ideal for any use including arable or grazing-based enterprises. There has been “good interest so far, primarily from the general locality”, noted Clive Kavanagh of the selling agents.

‘Tangible assets’

Commenting on the current market to date, Clive said: “There is generally good demand for non–residential blocks of land from both farmers expanding and people with cash looking to invest in a secure asset with tax-free benefits when entering a minimum of a five-year lease agreement.”

Expanding on this, Clive noted: “Since Covid-19, there has been a considerable increase in enquiries from people looking to relocate cash into tangible assets.”
