The weather forecast for this weekend will see showers and cool temperatures throughout the country, according to Met Eireann with some sunny spells.

Friday, will see showers will die out and Friday night will be dry with good clear spells. Lowest temperatures will fall to between 3 and 5 degrees. Moderate westerly winds will fall light and back southerly by morning.

Saturday

Saturday will be mostly dry with good sunny spells at first, but cloud will increase from the southwest with rain pushing into the west and southwest by noon and then extending country wide by evening, according to Met Eireann with south to southeasterly winds will increase moderate to fresh. Afternoon temperatures will reach just 11 to 14 degrees again.

On Saturday night rain will turn heavy for a time before clearing eastwards, Met Eireann says. Moderate to fresh southerly winds will veer westerly with the clearance. Lowest temperatures staying around 6 to 8 degrees.

Sunday

Sunday will start mostly dry but showers in the west will become widespread during the afternoon and turning heavy. Moderate westerly winds will freshen. Still cool with top temperatures of only 11 to 13 degrees, Met Eireann says.

It goes on to say that Monday will be wet and windy with heavy rain in the west spreading eastwards in a fresh to strong and gusty southerly wind. Remaining rather cool with top temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.

The outlook for early next week from Met Eireann is that the rain will only gradually clear on Monday night and on Tuesday the rain may linger in the east during the morning but it will become mostly dry.
