Annual Macra 'Rally' set to take place in Limerick
Macra has officially launched its 60th National Autumn Conference, better known as the "Rally", which will take place in Co. Limerick over the October Bank Holiday Weekend.
The event, hosted by Limerick Macra, will run from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25 at the Woodlands House Hotel and Spa, Adare.
This year's Rally will feature a packed programme of competitions, educational events, farm visits, networking opportunities, social activities and special 60th anniversary celebrations.
Members will also attend the National Conference where issues affecting young farmers and rural youth will be discussed.
The weekend will conclude with a gala banquet and the presentation of the Club of the Year and best new member awards.
Macra
The official launch brought together representatives from Macra, Limerick Macra, Kinisla and invited guests to unveil plans for the organisation's flagship annual event.
The occasion also marked the 60th anniversary of the National Rally's move to the October Bank Holiday weekend.
The move happened in Co. Kerry in 1966 due to renovations in the hotel for the event, then called the 'Summer Rally'.
Macra national president Josephine O'Neill described the National Rally as "the highlight of the Macra calendar, bringing members together to compete, learn, develop new skills and build lifelong friendships".
"It's an event that members across the country look forward to every year.

Speaking at the launch, Pat Murphy, Kinisla chief executive, said that Kinisla is proud to be main sponsor of this landmark event.
"Macra plays an important role in developing young farmers and rural leaders, and this event provides a valuable opportunity for members to build skills, share ideas and strengthen connections.

Rally
The event is expected to attract hundreds of members and visitors to Co. Limerick over the weekend.
