On this week’s episode of Farmland, Agriland journalist Aisling O’Brien sits down with the IFA’s chief economist Tadhg Buckley to discuss the upcoming CAP and what its contents will mean for farmers operating in sectors more reliant on direct payments, including the drystock and tillage industries. They also discuss a number of Budget 2023’s measures and what their effects will be on farm. Later in the programme, economist Ciaran Fitzgerald shares his opinions on these topics and outlines why he believes the agricultural industry needs to change its message around climate change and economic growth.
