Master thatcher, John Brereton, shares a glimpse of his skills and craftmanship as he keeps the long established tradition alive, but he fears that he may be one of a dwindling breed of thatchers in Ireland today. He has warned that the industry is now under threat and has called on the government to perserve and encourage the ‘art form’.
