This year will see Zetor make some significant changes to its model line up, as well as its naming of the tractors.

The company said that it has undergone significant changes, not only in production, but also in the marking of tractor model lines.

It noted that Zetor is returning to its beginnings and the tradition of the tractors being classified according to numerical series, a method of marking which it believes has many advantages for end customers and for itself as a manufacturer.

Latest six-series from Zetor

The new model series markings will give a clearer indication of the size category of the tractor and the approximate engine power.

This will provide customers with an easier path through the product portfolio, as well as a clearer place in the market.

The chronologically ordered model series numbers linked to engine power will also provide a clear categorisation system that will make it easier for customers to identify which of our tractors is best suited to their work.

Zetor tells us that it is currently working on new tractor ranges that will follow on from the existing models. These new ranges are said to bring innovations and improvements that reflect the needs of customers and current trends in the agri-sector.

The first new model series to be introduced under this new regime is the six-series, which follows on from the category currently covered by the Forterra and Crystal models.

On show at Brno

A prototype from the new range was exhibited at this month’s Techagro Farm Machinery Show in Brno, Czech Republic.

The new six-series machines will be equipped with a new transmission, a four-cylinder engine with up to 171 HP available, a higher overall payload, new controls which includes an ISOBUS connection, and they will be smart farming compatible.

The engines will be a four-cylinder block provided by Deutz, leaving the door open for a six-cylinder unit to power larger tractors, up to and beyond 200hp in the future.
