Interim featherweight UFC champion Conor McGregor, has penned an endorsement deal with Glanbia owned Sports nutrition brand BSN (Bio-Engineered Supplements and Nutrition).

The company manufactures a range of sports supplements.

Dubliner McGregor is set to fight Jose Aldo in the main event of Ultimate Fighting Championship 194 in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 12.

“I take my nutrition very, very seriously,” says McGregor.

“You can’t cut corners in this game. You must align yourself with the best in each field, and I feel BSN is leading the way in nutrition and supplementation. They are breaking barriers in their field, and I am breaking barriers in my field. It’s the perfect partnership,” he said of the deal.

Glanbia’s Global Performance Nutrition (GPN) business has has three global brands – Optimum Nutrition, BSN and Isopure – and two regional brands – Nutramino and ABB.

It produces the full range of performance nutrition products including protein, pre-workout, muscle gainers and general health. Products are sold through a variety of channels including specialty retail, the internet and gyms in a variety of formats including powders, bars and Ready-to-Drink beverages.

Glanbia says GPN has a global footprint with an in-market presence in 23 countries.

GPN delivered a strong performance for Glanbia in 2014. Revenues increased 13.5% to €746.2 million reflecting volume growth of 7.4%.

Glanbia has said the outlook for GPN in 2015 is positive and we continue to target branded revenue growth ahead of the market.
