Rain and drizzle will extend across much of the country overnight but parts of the northwest may hold dry. Lowest temperatures will be 5° to 8° with moderate to fresh northeast winds.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, April 3) will see cloudy and damp weather to start for much of the country, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle pushing northwards. Drier and brighter weather will develop for a time in the south and southwest but further outbreaks of rain will move in again during the afternoon and evening.

Highest temperatures generally tomorrow will range from 8° to 11°, but reaching 12° or 13° in any sunshine in the south. Winds will be mostly moderate in strength, north or northwest in direction.

There will be patchy rain and drizzle in places tomorrow night, with some mist and fog forming as winds fall light over land. Lowest temperatures are expected to be between 4° and 7°.

Any patches of mist or drizzle on Thursday morning (April 4) will clear early to leave a mix of cloud, sunny spells and a few showers. During the afternoon, rain will spread across Munster, extending nationwide during the evening and turning heavy in places.

Maximum temperatures will range from 10° to 13°, but a little cooler in north Ulster, while fresh and gusty southeast winds will develop during the course of the day.

It will be breezy on Thursday night with outbreaks of rain clearing north to scattered showers. Minimum temperatures will be 7° to 10° with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds.

It will be mild and windy on Friday (April 5) with sunny spells and showers, some of which may be heavy and thundery. Maximum temperatures will be higher than preceding days, at 13° to 16°, in strong and gusty southerly winds.

Friday night will bring further rain and showers, with some heavy downpours possible, bringing the chance of spot flooding. It will be a mild night, with lowest temperatures of 10° to 12° in strong and gusty southerly winds.
