He is the Co. Cork teenager, who is one of the most famous faces in the country at the moment, with 8.5 million views on social media and counting, and guess what Eoin Lynch is still talking about?

Yes, it is slurry.

Life has moved up a gear for the young agri-enthusiast from Mitchelstown since he first did a short interview with Agriland at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska last week.

Overnight he became a social media sensation and he has found his love of farming has resonated not just at home with fans, but also further afield.

This week Agriland’s Breifne O’Brien caught up with Eoin to see just how he has been getting on and also to see him in action on a farm.

Eoin told Briefne that he’s “loving life”.

“It’s been a weird week”, he said, as he has been trying to keep on top of all the messages coming in on across various social media channels, but he said he is “enjoying every bit of it”.

Breifne caught up with him as he headed out on a farm in Co. Cork.

Eoin said he is “kept busy” at all times of the year.

“What’s produced in every farm all year round? It’s slurry,” he said.

According to Eoin, he enjoys being part of the whole process of farming and “being able to do it yourself”.

He also has very definite views when it comes to the business of spreading slurry.

Eoin talked Briefne through one of his favourite systems – which has a dribble bar up at the front of the tank.

“With this you can see the whole dribble bar- it is really well thought of, if you’re spreading a lot of slurry, it is a super job.

“With the dribble bar you can get an even spread,” he said.
