Laois Macra na Feirme has arranged for the rural internet sensation ‘The 2 Johnnies’  comedy act to come to the midlands – for what is promised to be “a memorable night”, according to organisers.

Scheduled for Saturday, March 3, in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise, doors will open at 7:00pm and the show will kick off at 8:00pm.

The 2 Johnnies

‘The 2 Johnnies’ is a comedy duo based in Cahir, Co Tipperary. The pair went viral with their song “The Boom is Back” in November 2017 and have continued to release more comedic songs and tour the country with their comedy shows. Mixing plenty of farmer and GAA inspired gags into their routine, the double-act is well-known across the rural countryside.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Laois Macra na Feirme chairperson Helen Dempsey said: “We’re very excited to bring comedy duo ‘The 2 Johnnies’ to the Midlands Park Hotel on March 3 as part of our main fundraiser for the year.

“Huge thanks must go to our generous sponsors Condells for their support with our fundraising effort. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed for all who attend,” Helen added.

Tickets cost €15 for Macra members and €20 for non Macra members; they are available from any Macra na Feirme club in Laois or on Eventbrite.

Any Macra member who purchases a discounted ticket must produce a 2017/2018 membership card on the night. It should also be noted that the show is an over-18s event.

This fundraiser will raise much-needed funds towards the development of Laois Macra and all eight clubs, according to a county spokesperson.
