Tirlán announces supplier fertiliser support for 2027

Tirlán has announced a fertiliser support offer for 2027, with measures set to be available for both milk and grain suppliers.

The processor said the fertiliser support offer is aimed at providing "practical support" with input costs, and to give suppliers greater flexibility around the purchase and payment of fertiliser for 2027.

For milk suppliers, the offer includes a €20/t rebate and interest-free credit on qualifying fertiliser purchases made between September 15 and December 11 of this year, or until the programme cap of 30,000t is reached.

Payment will be spread across the peak milk supply months through four equal contras from the April, May, June and July milk values, with payments made in May, June, July and August.

No interest will be charged, Tirlán said.

To qualify for the €20 per tonne support, bagged fertiliser must be delivered between January 4 and February 28 next year; and bulk fertiliser must be delivered between January 4 and March 31.

For grain suppliers, the offer provides interest-free fertiliser credit on qualifying purchases made between October 27 and December 11 this year, or until the programme cap of 15,000t is reached.

Payment will be taken against the first grain delivered in 2027. Interest will apply from September 2027 to any outstanding balance.

Fertiliser purchased through the support package will also be included in the calculation of the individual supplier’s 2027 Grain Trading Bonus, which offers a payment of up to €12.50/t of qualifying grain.

Milk and grain suppliers interested in availing of the support are encouraged to speak to their local Tirlán representative.

Commenting on the support measure, Tirlán chairperson Ger O’Brien said: "As a co-op, we want to support our milk and grain suppliers in practical ways where we can. This fertiliser offer will help suppliers manage an important input cost for 2027, while providing greater flexibility around when payments are made."
