The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has issued an update on scheme payments made to farmers this week.
The latest data from DAFM shows there was over €1.46 million issued to farmers for the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) this week.
TAMS, which is co-funded by the EU, provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holdings.
Under TAMS 3, 50,953 approvals have been issued to date, with 22,088 payment applications submitted and 19,161 total payments made.
Under the 2025 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC), just over €29,191 issued to farmers this week.
Under the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES), €160,000 issued to farmers this week, bringing total payments to date to €787.3 million.
A review of ACRES is ongoing and not yet finalised, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon confirmed this week.
In October 2024, then minister for agriculture Charlie McConalogue ordered a review of the €1.5 billion agri-environmental scheme.
This followed strong criticism over delays in scheme payments to farmers.
In response to a parliamentary question from Green Party leader, Roderic O'Gorman, Minister Heydon confirmed that the review is still not complete.
