The 12 participants in the Teagasc Green Acres Programme have worked on improving quality of the silage available on their farms this winter.
Teagasc has received three years industry funding to operate a second phase of the Teagasc - Green Acres Calf-to-Beef Programme.
Ben Sweeney farms 138ha in Enfield, Co. Meath. The farm consists of a herd of 25 suckler cows and there are 200 Friesian bull calves reared and finished on the farm.
