A new 60-point rotary parlour will be on display at a DeLaval open day in Cork tomorrow.
Tom Harte Farm Services will host the open day tomorrow at Tom and Michael Dunne’s Farm in Kilworth, Fermoy.
The open day will take place from 11am-5pm and the farm will be signposted from Junction 14 Fermoy North.
Brian Harte, Director of Tom Harte Farm Services said the new milking system is simple and efficient to use but also allows easy monitoring of the cows feeding and milking performance. “Our Open Day is a great opportunity to see the new system in action.”
The parlour features a unique design of concrete platform which has a low bail divider design to ensure easy cow entry and exit which improves cow flow and animal comfort, he said.
An open forum which will include panel discussions with various organisations such as DeLaval, AIB, Crowley Engineering and Dairygold will take place at 3pm
As part of the Open Day, Tom Harte Farm Services will showcase their range of dairy products.
Some of the new equipment on display will include
• DeLaval 60 point rotary
• DeLaval 32000 litre Bulk tank
• Entry drafting system
• Exit drafting system
• Milk meters with blood and conductivity measurements
The DeLaval VMS Robotic Voluntary Milking System which is now available in Cork will also be on site along with a team of DeLaval VMS experts.
