The sale of one of the country’s largest livestock marts – Carnaross Mart in Co. Meath – is believed to be edging closer.
An agreement is allegedly close to being reached where local man, James Mallon, will purchase the business.
Rumours of the sale of the livestock mart have been floating around for the past few weeks, but no concrete details have been revealed as of yet. The sale is expected to close within the next two weeks.
Carnaross Mart, which is believed to be one of the biggest marts in the country, is currently owned by Gunne Estate Agents.
The mart holds sales of both beef and dairy cattle, as well sheep; with sales taking place each Monday and Tuesday.
