Producer prices for food products increased by 2.9% in the year to June 2026, new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show.

Some of the most notable changes in producer prices for food products over the 12 months to June 2026 were for fish and fish products (+8.6%) and other food products (+5.4%).

In the 12 months, meat and dairy products were both down 0.2%.

The Wholesale Price Index for June 2026 shows that producer prices for food products increased by 0.2% since May 2026.

Wholesale electricity prices were 42.2% higher than June 2025 but fell by 6.2% in the month to June 2026, the CSO said.

They have fallen by 65% when compared with the peak that occurred in August 2022.

All energy fuels were down by 9% in June 2026 compared with May 2026, but up 24.5% comparing June 2026 with June 2025.

Domestic producer prices for manufactured goods were on average 4.1% higher in June 2026 compared with June 2025, while prices for exported goods were up by 3.4%.

Overall, manufacturing producer prices were 3.5% higher in 12 months to June 2026.

Wholesale prices for construction products remained unchanged in the month to June 2026 and rose by 3.1% in the 12 months since June 2025.

Deirdre Toher, statistician in the CSO's prices division, said: “Wholesale price inflation showed a decrease in June 2026 with a 0.2% decline in the overall producer price index for manufacturing industries in the month.

"Producer prices for products sold on the domestic market were 4.1% higher in June 2026 compared with June 2025.

"In the 12 months to June 2026, export producer prices rose by 3.4%, while overall producer prices were up by 3.5%."
