Agricultural Design Engineer

SAMCO, a family-run agricultural company, is looking to hire an Agricultural Design Engineer. The company is looking for the right person to fill the full-time position at the beginning of September.

The role’s responsibilities will include producing and updating technical drawings and information – using Auto CAD inventor.

The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain effective communications with customers to clarify specifications and deal with any queries raised.

Those thinking of applying should hold a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Agricultural Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.

At least one year’s experience is desirable and an agricultural background is ideal, but not essential.

Graduate position

A full-time graduate position is also available with SAMCO; the company is looking for a candidate to start in September.

The right candidate will be required to measure performance and analyse data, such as crop yield. They will also be asked to attend meetings, organise seminars, farm demonstrations and open days.

A Bachelor of Science honours degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Science, Agri-Environmental Science, Animal Production, Crop Management, Dairy Business or similar disciplines is essential.

Applicants should be self-motivated, highly organised and have the ability to work independently.

Weighbridge Manager

The Cooney Furlong Grain Company is looking to take on a Weighbridge Manager.

Responsibilities will include the daily management of weighbridge operations, as well as stock control and management.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience in a similar role, preferably in an agriculture or warehouse environment, would also be an advantage.

Career Development Program

Alltech is looking for people to apply to its European Ruminant Career Development Program.

This is a one-year, salaried, entry-level programme, giving graduates passionate about the ruminant industry the opportunity to develop their skills in nutrition and animal health in an innovative agribusiness company.

Trainees will develop skills to work in a technical sales role in their assigned markets.

Candidates will be expected to audit farm operations and provide appropriate solutions, as well as managing clients.

Applicants must be able to start in September and they must hold either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Dairy Business, Beef Production or closely-related fields.

If you’re an energetic and enthusiastic agricultural graduate who wants to play an integral part in generating technical news stories, features and helping to drive our growing traffic, then we can provide that opportunity.
