Parts of the country woke up to a dusting of snow this morning and there are some great farming pictures doing the rounds on social media.

Yesterday, Met Eireann issued a yellow snow-ice weather warning for Leinster and Ulster with accumulations possible of 1 to 3cm locally.

And, the cold weather is forecast to continue over the weekend and into next week.

Tomorrow Saturday is promised to be a cold, bright and dry day in many areas, with good sunshine and moderate northwest to north winds.

Sunday will be another cold day and there will be a frosty start in eastern areas.
