A farm and plant machinery auction is set to take place this Saturday, July 25, in Co. Laois.

The sale will be held by Hennessy Auctioneers – marking the return of the firm’s monthly auctions – at the old mart in Portlaoise.

Once again, there will be over 300 lots on offer and the auction will kick off at 11:30am sharp, according to Hennessy.

Ahead of the sale, the auctioneer added: “All types of tractors, diggers, teleporters, dumpers, agricultural and plant trailers, grass, livestock, slurry and tillage equipment wanted to meet customer demand.”

Hennessy Auctioneers confirmed that it will only be selling farm machinery and big items that it would normally sell outside in the yard.

The shed auction of tools and small items is suspended until further notice, the auctioneering firm added.

According to the company, tractor and vehicle lots booked in so far include: a 2004 New Holland TM155 with 6,500 hours; a 1995 Deutz-Fahr AgroPrima 6.16 with 12,000 hours; a 1996 Fiat (Fiatagri) F115; a John Deere 2140; a Ford 5000; a Ford 3000; a David Brown 996; a 2000 JCB 530-70 Farm Special; a 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser with 182,000km; and a 2007 Ford Ranger.

The firm’s gates will be open for entries and viewing for the rest of this week from 9:00am to 6:00pm. No entries will be accepted on Saturday morning, Hennessy added.

Prospective buyers can bid on-site in the yard on Saturday, or alternatively bid online.

All bidders must register to bid at the auction or bid online. A refundable bidding deposit is required to register – €100 if attending the auction or €250 if bidding online.
