An appeal has been made for the rightful owner of a small trailer to come forward after the trailer in question was discovered abandoned in Co. Laois.

Members of An Garda Síochána based in the Laois-Offaly region believe that the trailer may have been stolen.

Taking to social media on Saturday evening (March 20), Gardaí appealed for the owner to come forward, adding that proof of ownership will be required in order to claim it.

“This trailer has been found by our colleagues this evening in the Wolfhill area of County Laois.

It has been seized as we believe it was possibly recently stolen and left abandoned. If you recognise it or own it please contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057-8674100.

“Proof of ownership will be required,” the Garda post concluded.

This is the second occurrence of a rightful owner being sought by Gardaí in the midlands in recent months.

Back in January, Offaly Gardaí appealed for the rightful owner of a quad to come forward after seizing a vehicle believed to be stolen.

Following searches conducted by Tullamore and Edenderry Detective Units on Saturday, January 23, a quad which was thought to have been stolen was seized with an appeal made to find its legitimate owner.
