The chosen food-service provider for Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Compass Group Ireland, has committed to sourcing as much food produce as possible from Cork and other Munster suppliers for the newly revamped sports stadium.
The firm, which is also the food partner for the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, won the catering contract for the new multi-purpose stadium when it reopens this Saturday, July 22.
Local suppliers which have been confirmed by the group so far include Hodgins Sausages and Barry’s Tea. It has also been announced that all beef will be sourced from local farmers in Cork, where possible, and is 100% Irish.
As well as this, Atlantis Seafood will be providing locally-caught fish for the ‘Catch of the Day’, courtesy of two boats operated out of the west Cork harbour of Castletownbere.
Visitors will be spoiled for choice when the stadium reopens, with seven hot food kiosks – including ‘The Butcher’s Grill’ serving “prime Irish beef-burgers” and a pizza eatery offering both pizzas and sub sandwiches.
Families will also be facilitated through bundled family offers and kids’ meal deals. The revamped Pairc Ui Chaoimh will also boast upgraded hospitality facilities in the “premium level”, which will be available for both match days and corporate events.
Audrey Foley, Managing Director of Compass Group Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed the food partner for Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
“We are excited to introduce a new hospitality experience at the stadium, designed for the cut and thrust of match days, and outside of this, a unique and special venue for event experiences.
In order to deliver this, we look forward to welcoming 357 new members to the Compass Group team who will be at the beating heart of Cork GAA, fuelling supporters’ passion.
Iain Flynn, Head Chef of Compass Group Ireland, added: “We will be showcasing the best of local suppliers through our restaurants and hospitality, strengthening the link between the best Munster producers and the fans. We can’t wait for the first throw-in!”
