Met Éireann

Met Éireann has said that the dominant high pressure over the weekend and into early next week will result in minimal rainfall totals across the country.

Rainfall totals are forecast to be significantly below normal nationwide over the coming days.

During the past week mean air temperatures ranged between 10.3° to 12.4°, which is 1.3° to 2.3° above normal. Mean soil temperatures currently range from 10.4° to 12.6°, which is 2.1° to 3.5° above average.

Met Éireann said that mean soil temperatures will remain above normal during the coming week.

Due to minimal sunshine and light winds over the next seven days, drying conditions will be moderate at best, while there will be good opportunities for spraying.

Met Éireann said that well and moderately drained soils are currently just about trafficable across much of the country, poorly drained soils are saturated or waterlogged.

Minimal rainfall is forecast in the coming week with some improvement in trafficability in poorly drained soils.
