Lisavaird Co-Op has officially launched its state-of-the-art feed mill after a €5.5 million investment.

The co-op has said that it underscores its commitment to delivering superior quality products and exceptional service to its valued customers.

In collaboration with nutrition expert Dr. Morgan Sheehy of Devenish Nutrition, Lisavaird Co-Op has developed a new feed formulation designed to enhance animal health and performance.

According to the co-op, the team at Lisavaird Agri-Feeds have crafted recipes that exceed the nutritional needs of livestock.

All steps of the process happen in-house, the co-op explained, and the highest quality grain grown by local tillage farmers is tested, treated and stored on site, assuring customers efficient service and quick delivery.

The launch of the new Lisavaird Agri-Feed brand is part of a comprehensive rebrand for the co-op, ahead of its centenary celebration in 2025.

This initiative has driven substantial investment in its flagship base at Lisavaird and its branches across west Cork.

The team at Lisavaird Agri-Feeds have said that they have meticulously tested and refined the new feed to ensure it meets the highest standards.

Lisavaird Co-Op

Earlier this year, over 30 board members and staff retiring from their positions at Lisavaird Co-Op were celebrated at an event in Rosscarbery, Co. Cork.

Held at the Celtic Ross Hotel, Lisavaird Co-Op honoured 14 staff members and 19 board members who retired from the organisation in recent years.

Among the honoured retirees were long-term staff members Dan Nyhan and Leonard Cooke, both of whom began their careers at the co-op in January 1971 and retired in July 2018.

Lisavaird Co-Op was started in 1925 by a group of local farmers who saw the co-op structure as the ideal means to enhance farmers’ livelihoods by coming together to market their produce, purchase their farm requirements and learn from each other.

Over the years the Co-op has expanded to the wider west Cork community to which it supplies fuels, hardware, household goods, building materials from its six branches and central hardware and grocery store in Lisavaird.

Since 2009, the co-op has diversified into other food manufacturing areas. It now owns and operates a number of food processing facilities producing cooked meats, cakes and confectionary, fish and shellfish products and dairy spreads.
