Kverneland has launched its new Tactus 2072 and Tactus 2078 double-rotor rotary rakes, which are aimed at increasing productivity.

The Norwegian company said that these rakes are "designed to deliver clean forage, high efficiency and excellent operator comfort".

The Kverneland Tactus 2072 offers working widths from 6.4-7.2m, while the Tactus 2078 covers working widths from 7.0-7.8m.

This flexible width makes both models well suited to a wide range of scenarios.

Kverneland says the new models combine the manoeuvrability that the brand's rakes are known for with high capacity, achieved through the widening working width of its rake.

Advanced features

According to Kverneland, the combination of the design and the use of the brand's TerraLink Plus ground contour-following system, the Tactus series of rakes perform as well on uneven, hilly terrain as on flat fields.

The TerraLink Plus and TouchDown Effect systems combine to enable three-dimensional contour following, which Kverneland says results in "consistently clean forage".

"High headland clearance, a stable rear frame, and compact transport dimensions ensure safe, comfortable operation both in the field and on the road," it said.

The Tactus rakes are also equipped with Kverneland's Duo tine system that rakes the crop in two rows with curved 9.5mm tines.

Kverneland claims this system bring a number of "clear" customer benefits, such as improved crop quality, consistent tine height, smooth and even crop flow, high raking capacity, and reduced soil contamination.

It added that "curved tine arms further enhance crop lifting, minimise leaf loss, and support the formation of airy, box-like swaths", meaning a reduced risk of roping.

Reliability focused

Kverneland said that the "key design principles" for the Tactus range are surrounding reliability and reduced maintenance requirements.

The company "ensures smooth operation, long service life and low operation costs" with the CompactLine gearbox, which it puts down to its oil-immersed cam track and oil-greased tine-arm bearings.

The rakes come with a number of practical details "such as easy coupling, durable indicators and an extensive option package".

This option package includes hydraulic transport locks, and allows operators to customise the machine to their specific needs for "efficient, comfortable day-to-day operation", according to Kverneland.
